The following are some examples of smart irrigation:
Water Smart Irrigation Controllers: These systems use weather information and site conditions to determine how much water to apply and when to irrigate. Weather-based smart controllers draw upon a variety of climatic conditions. Some controllers utilize historic weather data supplemented with on-site weather data.
Irrigation Nozzles: Using pop-up sprinkler spray heads with new water-efficient nozzles can save more than 6,600 gallons of water per nozzle over a 5-year period. Water-efficient sprinkler nozzles apply water more evenly than conventional spray nozzles, thus saving water and reducing the amount of run-off.
Drip Irrigation: Drip irrigation delivers water slowly. This type of irrigation can deliver water above, on, or below the surface of the soil. This minimizes water loss due to runoff, wind and evaporation. Drip irrigation exceeds 90 percent efficiency when delivering
Soil Moisture Sensors: Soil sensors reduce water waste by continuously measuring moisture levels in the soil and determining when to allow your controller to water, maximizing the efficiency of your irrigation system.
